Zhang Hongbao
On 5th Jan. 1954,
I was born in Harbin City of Heilongjiang Province of China.
From 3 to 5 years old I went to kindergarten.
At 5 years old I started primary school study, at 11 years old I graduated from
primary school.
From 11 to 14 years old I was in the junior middle school, in which I was the
class monitor.
At 14 years old, I went "to the mountainous and rural areas" on Shanhe Farm of
Heilongjiang Province. Successively, I worked as platoon leader, tractor driver,
cook, farm worker, breeder, handyman, stonecutter, platoon leader and company
commander of armed primary militia, vice principal of cultural night school,
acting statistician, acting company commander, theory secretary of propaganda
section of General Farm (GF) (i.e. member in charge of Theory Study Section of
GF's Party Committee), head of working-team of GF, responsible person of
scientific research office of Science Research Center, agricultural technician,
chief member of Science and Technology Section, part-time teacher of May 7th
University of the GF, part-time teacher of agricultural technology for third
year senior middle school students, children of GF's workers and staff, member
of Science Commission of GF. At 24 years old, after I was admitted to a college,
I left the Farm; I spent ten years there in total.
During the ten years in countryside, I joined the Communist Youth League in 1970
and was a member of League Branch; attended the training course in Beian
Prefecture Party School in 1973, attended the training course in Cadre School of
Heilongjiang Provincial Farm Bureau in 1974. At the end of 1974, I was selected
to get an advanced study of agronomy in Heilongjiang Provincial Agricultural
Science Academy. In the period of advanced study, I was class monitor of the
course. After completion of the study, I went back to the Farm.
In the ten years on the Farm, I had successively been chosen as a model worker
and advanced worker. In 1976, I was cited as one among ten technician
pacesetters of 93 Farm Administration Bureau and attended First Science Meeting
of Provincial General Farm Bureau.
In 1977, I was admitted into Harbin Metallurgy College, specialty of mineral
separation, and graduated in 1979. In 1979, I joined CPC. During studying, I
also worked as a member of College Youth League Committee.
In Sep., 1979, I was assigned to Heihe Gold Mine Bureau of Metallurgy Ministry
(located in Heilongjiang Province, Heihe City), worked successively as
technician of mine separation, leader of Physics and Chemistry Teacher Research
Group and teacher of physics of Wudaogou Mine's middle school,. In 1980, I was
chosen to the Office of Gold Mine Bureau's Party Committee as secretary of
Bureau Party Committee and held a concurrent post of director of Petition Letter
Office and in charge of work among school graduates. During this period, I was
admitted into Heihe Prefecture Workers' Spare-time University, specialty:
Chinese language. (Due to the transferring to another post, I left Heihe, 4
subjects didn't get completed).
In 1983, I was transferred to Huma Gold Mine Bureau of Metallurgy Ministry,
worked as: Secretary of Youth League Committee of the Bureau, vice skipper of a
300 liters capacity gold dredger imported from Holland, vice secretary of Party
Branch, director of Enterprise Rectifying Office of the Bureau. In this period,
I attended the training course of Provincial Youth League Cadre School and was
the monitor and the secretary of Youth League Branch in the course. While being
in Huma Gold Mine Bureau, I finished the curriculum of specialty of enterprise
management (undergraduate level) through self-study. In 1984, I was listed as
member of third echelon of leader cadres of Bureau level. In the same year, I
was sent to China Gold College for advanced study in Shenyang. During 10 months
of studying, I applied for study in Psychology Correspondent University of China
Academy of Science, the specialty: managing psychology and I got the completion
certificate.
1985, I was admitted into Beijing Science and Technology University (BSTU, it is
one of the eight prestigious universities of Beijing.), Specialty: economic
management, study with pay (like a fellowship). The graduation certificate was
issued (but I didn't take it). In this period, I learnt 3 specialties in the
same time, they are law specialty of China People's University; Qigong specialty
of Zhonghua Qigong Advanced Study College and part courses of traditional
Chinese Medicine and Western medicine. I covered these 3 specialties for
enlarging my knowledge structure; therefore I didn't try to get the
qualification of completion.
During my studying in BSTU, I worked as the president of Qigong Science Research
Society of BSTU and have compiled Zhonghua Life Preservation and Mentality
Promotion Qigong (Zhong Gong for short). Before graduation, I was invited by
Zhuhai Municipal Scientific Commission as a manager of Zhuhai Qigong Science
Research and Development Company of Zhuhai Municipal Gui scientific, Industrial
and Trade Development (Group) Company and invited to take charge of Qigong
health protection work by Central Health Protection Bureau, I refused both these
invitations politely. After graduation, I was assigned to work at the
University.
In Aug.1987, I initiated the Beijing Haidian (district) Qigong Science Research
Institute; I was the Director of it.
In 1988, I have purchased and set up the Beijing International Qigong Service
Company Ltd. (China-America joint venture), and took the post of general manager
and director of it.
In Apr. 1989, I have initiated "International Academy of Life Science" (approved
officially by Sichuan Provincial Science Commission), I was the first president
of it.
In Aug.1990, I have initiated "Chongqing International Life Science and
Technology University" and was the first president of the university.
(Recommended by the Adult Education Department of the National Education
Commission and approved by Chongqing Municipal Education Commission officially).
In the same year, I have established "Changjiang Life Science and Technology
General Company" and was the chairman of the Board. On the 3 Nov. 1990, in
Beijing Science Hall, I announced the birth of the "Tianhua Culture" formally
and introduced its contents to more than 600 personages of high position of
various circles and the elite of society continuously for three days.
In the period from 1987 to 1990, over 50 large-scale Zhong Gong speed-up courses
of about 2000 persons from everywhere in the country were held by me. The
ministries and commissions under the State Council, main universities and
colleges, scientific research institutions and press organizations had invited
me for holding Qigong Speed-up courses for them. I was engaged to be advisor,
senior advisor, chief advisor, professor, or research-fellow by following units:
‘People's Daily’(the main press voice of CPC), advisor of Qigong Research
Society (QRS);
‘Central People's Broadcasting Station’, chief advisor of Qigong Science
Research Society (QSRS);

The promotion of above mentioned units and the results of quick effect in
eliminating diseases and strengthening health of Zhong Gong created a continuous
Zhong Gong craze over 3 years in Beijing and then spread to the whole country.
The media called it “Zhong Gong whirlwind". Owing to this, I have had my name in
"1989 Chinese Personage Yearbook" and "Chinese Elite", which was published in
Chinese, English and Japanese three languages. The report praised me as one of
three Chinese famous Qigong Masters.
In 1993, I have established "Zhonghua Traditional Culture Advanced Study
University" (located at Xi'an City, approved by Shaanxi Provincial Education
Commission officially); I am the chairman of the Board of the University and the
professor of life preserving and cultivating specialty.
In 1994, I have initiated nationwide life preserving service enterprise---Taiweike
Life Preserving Service Company, its branches are spread over all provinces,
prefectures, cities and counties. In the same year, I have established life
preserving teaching organizations in various provinces and cities.
In Mar.1994, Beijing International Qigong Service Company Ltd. was rescinded by
the order of the Secretary of Beijing Municipal Party Committee Chen Xitong
(member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of Central Committee
of CPC.). The Public Security Departments began to follow my track and wanted to
find an excuse to arrest me. I was forced to change my residences frequently and
to lead the work of Zhong Gong organizations on the move.
In Apr. 1995, under my remote control and instruction, Tianhua (Kylin) Group has
been set up and approved officially by National Commission for Structural
Reforms. It has been formally registered in Tianjin.
Since then the three big systems of Zhong Gong Organization (life preserving
teaching system, relevant products service system and life preserving base
service system) and the regular scientific research and teaching institutions
are all settled under the Tianhua (Kylin) Group. There are 3000 odd
organizations, 30 big, middle or small bases of life preserving and nearly
100,000 teaching-instructing groups (chain units). It has formed a big network
of life preserving teaching service in the cities, towns and villages all over
the country and ushered in life preserving industry. These life preserving
enterprises have 100,000 workers and staff and kept about 400,000 people alive.
The CPC was worried and feared me. In light of this, on 8th Aug., 1995, using
1150 odd soldiers and policemen they intended to arrest me publicly but failed.
On 26th July, 1995, we declared that 8 years initial stages ended and from 8th
Aug., 1995, the 3 years regulation stage will begin.
According to the Tianhua (Kylin) Group's requirement of professional knowledge
for the cadres, in order to encourage, supervise and urge the managers,
supervisors and board members from provincial companies and higher levels to try
to reach the professional level of MBA before the end of 1998, I have been the
first in finishing the studies, the materials I have used are the teaching
materials of industrial and commercial management specialty of Business School
of Harvard University of the United States.
In the period from 1991 to 1998, I have finished the following professional
works, which have been accepted by relevant departments:
Revised editions of teaching materials from first to fourth steps Qigong of
Zhong Gong and general guidance of first to fourth steps Qigong (books, video
and audio tapes);
"Key Secret Points for Quiet Practicing";
"Chinese Special Medicine Cases "(2 million characters in 6 volumes);

Zhong Gong has been selected as "excellent Qigong method" and I have been
selected as "excellent compiler of Qigong method" by the Organization Commission
of Asian Sport Festival in 1998;
During the flood disaster in Northeast 3 provinces of China, I contributed 1.5
million yuan RMB to disaster area in 1998.
In 1998, the Tianhua (Kylin) Group has been the first enterprise among the
enterprises with more than 10 thousand people run by common people, which
reached the aim of average income of 800 USD per person per year in modest
competence, put forward by Government. Afterwards, Tianhua (Kylin) Group has
started to strive to a more well-off living level.
In every year from 1995 to 1998 CPC adopted various measures and made every
possible effort to impose restrictions on Zhong Gong's development. Their method
was to arbitrarily decide that this is a crime first and to manufacture
evidences later, just like the way in "Cultural Revolution", aiming to persecute
Zhong Gong. Before 8th Aug. 1998 (the 3 years regulation of Zhong Gong ended),
they had made thousands of rummages (at least once in per organization). So
called "Search evidence" was to find my residence. They didn’t get what they
wanted. So after November, they decided to destroy Zhong Gong organizations in
1999.
In Apr., 1999, in order to protest CPC for persecution by denouncing Falungong
as "cult", Falungong's learners led a peace petition in Tiananmen Square. This
event enraged Jiang Zemin, and then he turned the attack spearhead to Falungong.
Zhong Gong got a temporary break. But from Aug. the rummage and arrest in large
scale on Zhong Gong started again. On 3rd Dec., 1999, a countrywide work meeting
of political and legal commissions was held; they have denounced Zhong Gong as
the first target of attack in 2000.
In May, 1999, I have finished the creation, compilation and manuscript of "Yuandun
Great Method". This set of human body cultivation techniques concentrated the
practicing and cultivating methods of Taoism, Mi sect, various Indian sects and
Sufei sect of Islam. It may be called the essence of human practicing and
cultivating techniques.
From May to October of 1999, I have remotely instructed ten thousand learners to
research and practice Yuandun Great Method, and a breakthrough progress in the
research task of supernormal life science has been obtained.
In Nov., 1999, I have been written into "China Volume" of "World Who's Who". The
introduction of my conditions took up three pages.
At the end of 1999, I started to study for a doctorate of modern knowledge
culture specialty. Through studying and researching for nearly thirty years, so
far my learning in traditional culture, especially in specialty of life
preservation cultivation has reached the level of guiding doctorial students.
From January, 2000 to April 2001, in order to fight for the new subsistence
space of Zhong Gong, I came to Guam. After 444 days of the ordeal in the prison,
I finally acquired the political asylum from US government by breaking free of
all sorts of barriers set by CCP and came to Washington D.C.
From April 2001 to the end of 2002, I was recommended to be “the President” and
I turned them down politely.
November 2002, I organized and set up Chinese Shadow Government and it came into
official operation on August 8th 2003.
In the spring of 2003, I was elected as the “Honorary President” of the “World
Chinese Association”.
March 15, 2003, I was jailed by political framing and I have been on bail since
then. During this time, I finished the creation of Hongbao Diagram of Universal
Principles and made the transition from a spiritual leader to political leader
and therefore, put down a solid basis for the next rise.
