There are three levels in appreciating Gong paintings: the first one is to look at the visual effect of the paintings; the second one is to grasp the image (or rather, the soul) through the paintings, to feel the unspeakable beauty with your heart; the third one is to completely given up the exterior materials, and to go into the paintings to talk with the lives there, and let the soulful spirits fill up your body, and achieve the state of “people and painting become one”.
