According to Hong Kong Human Rights and Democratic Movement Information Center on 17th, after Zhonggong was banned by CCP in the Continent, Zhang went to Guam in January last year to seek for political asylum. Under the pressure from CCP, Clinton administration not only rejected his application for political asylum but also kept him in jail. Zhang was released after 15 months in jail and was granted “anti-persecution protection”, allowing him to stay and work in US. According to this center, this shows that after the China-US military plane crash incident, the relationship between China and US has changed.
