Dear audience, Qi Gong was the essence of Chinese traditional culture and it was very popular among Chinese folks. In particular, after the unprecedented “Cultural Revolution”, the physical and mental fatigue caused people to study Qi Gong, in order to be freed and relaxed mentally, and recovered physically. As Qi Gong get more and more popular, some wise people started to look at Qi Gong from the point of view of Life Science and did a lot of research in Qi Gong. All these infused new energy into this ancient Chinese flower.
Naturally, as the tide of Qi Gong went higher, the reality is, not only the tide brings water and energy, it also brings mud and sand. When the real and false are all mingled together, how shall we define “Qi Gong” and what direction is Qi Gong going, in terms of research?
Not long ago, Beijing Life Science Study Center had a meeting on Qi Gong promotion. Mr. Zhan Zhuo, Deputy CEO of Beijing Life Science Study Center, introduced the current job that is being done at the Center, and some advocates in practicing Qi Gong also gave speeches on their own experiences in promoting Qi Gong. Afterwards, people from all walks of life talked about their experiences and suggestions.
The department that is in charge of managing organizations like Beijing Life Science Study Center is the Societal Education Department of Adult Education Bureau in Beijing municipal government. Mr. Chen, director of the Societal Education Department gave a speech, too. He said, “I’m very educated at hearing Mr. Zhan and a few other comrades’ speeches. Qi Gong is a profound issue that is worthwhile to study, ever since “I Ching” came into being. Just like “I Ching”, it will contribute more to the human kind.
The ordinary people will benefit more from Qi Gong. I feel that Qi Gong is very welcomed by ordinary people in China. This should be paid more attention to by the governments at all levels.
Beijing Life Science Study Center has come to see us many times, asking to be officially taken in as a part of our Department, to promote Qi Gong as a form of education in the society. We agreed to their application as a trying-out form of education by an educating organization. This has been running for over 200 days, almost 7 months now. Today we are sitting here together to study this. I think there are a few positive things here: first, let’s do a serious study about Qi Gong this science subject. By doing some experiments with some tangible devices, I hope we can actually confirm something. At present, science can’t explain this. What we are doing now is to lay a basis for future scientific study. Therefore I think, what we are doing now is very meaningful. People who are interested in Qi Gong, should have a scientific attitude, an attitude that only respects facts, to research on an promote Qi Gong, to get rid of illnesses for people, for patients, to improve their health. We have to be very down-to-earth in doing this and at the same time, we should do higher-level study on it. Secondly, now the real and false Qi Gong is all out there, we should disclose those that are false. Government departments, including police, education and press, should pay more attention to it, but do not negate it too quickly. We educational department will adopt the attitude of “supporting first”, then decide after we’ve got some experiences; do not kill it before it even sprouts. On the other hand, people who are promoting Qi Gong should avoid ending up promoting superstitions, otherwise it will bring damage to our country. So long as the direction is good, and we can have some actual results, then, coupled with good theories, Zhonggong will grow big.”
Mr. Shen Zhiyi, deputy chairman of China Labor Education Association, also talked about his opinion. “I’m very happy to be here today. I’ll be brief. I think Zhonggong is a very good organization that has its own theories, or its own theoretical system, and has proved to be very successful economically in its practice and proved to be very well accepted by huge number of people in a vast area. Among many schools of Qi Gong, I think Zhonggong really stands out in massive understanding and support and attention. I can be counted as a genuine and consistent supporter. This is my first point. Secondly, Zhonggong’s goal is to bring happiness to people, to treat illnesses and enhance health, prolong life and improve intelligence---this is how Zhonggong brings happiness to people. So long as we always hold onto this goal, persist in carrying out this goal, I believe Zhonggong will have a broad road lying ahead of it and it will not get lost in some side ways. Thirdly, as for a lot of arguments over Qi Gong, or call it “discussion”, I would say, let’s adopt the attitude of “practicing it, exploring it and studying it”. The tendency to deify it, or mix it with superstition is not good. Yet, blindly, groundlessly, arbitrarily negate it, even criticize it, elbow it out…these attitudes are not adoptable either. An objective existence could be recognized, yet, it takes time to recognize it. We human beings have a long process in recognizing objective existences, like a long river of history.
Today, what we perceive may not mean we fully understand them and have mastered their internal rules and able to explain them scientifically. In this sense, the correct attitude should be scientific, practical, exploring and researching. I also read a lot on this. Today, many participants here have benefited from Zhonggong, they are Zhonggong followers, Zhonggong people and they told us a lot of cases in which they are treated and they treated the others. These cases are real, they really saw them, experienced them. I believe them. I don’t think these comrades came here to lie, to cheat people. Yet, we Zhonggong still need to resolve these issues scientifically. There issues are still “we know they are but we don’t know why they are.” This shows us Zhonggong should develop towards “not only able to do something, but also know why; not only know what they are but also know why they are. This way, we will be able to uplift Zhonggong’s current social effects to a scientific level.”
Yang Shujing was a cadre in the General Staff of Chinese People’s Liberation Army. Inadvertently, he discovered Zhonggong and its magic power and became an enthusiastic researcher on it. After Yang Shujing finished studying all the four sections of Zhonggong, he found that all his original diseases disappeared and he acquired Specialty skills, i.e. using his own inner energy to treat patients. In a few years, he successfully treated many tough patients. Quoting his own words, the more difficult the illnesses are, the more interested he is in treating them. Yang Shujing said, (recording)
A child in Dacheng County, Hebei Province was diagnosed as nerve ending cancer by the side of pharynx and was operated on in the First Hospital in Tianjin. A few days after the surgery, the cancer recurred and the child had trouble breathing. What to do? The doctors said, only one such case was found in Tianjin and we don’t know how to treat it. Then the child was transferred to Beijing Tumor hospital and the doctor said, only one such case was found in Tianjin and we don’t know how to treat it. When the family was so extremely anxious and helpless, they came to Zhonggong Specialty Medicine. I used the Specialty skills to treat the tumor. Within 40 minutes, the tumor that neither Western medicine nor Chinese medicine could treat was gone. Later, the patient had a CT in the same hospital and was confirmed that “the tumor at the neck disappeared; the patient recovered.” (Recording stopped.)
Dear audience, among the diseases that Yang Shujing cured, there are cancer, gallstone, kidney stone, lumbar vertebra dislocation, stroke and paralysis, etc.
Dear friends, Chinese Health-care Intelligence-enhancing Gong not only grant people the techniques of treating illnesses and improving health, developing one’s specialty skills, but also offers “standards of Gong virtues” to its practitioners. As the study of Zhonggong goes more advanced, the practitioners have to obey ethics like “benefit myself and benefit the others”, “sacrifice myself to benefit others”. In another word, to practice Zhonggong, you will not only improve your health, but uplift yourself to the ethical level of “perfecting yourself physically and mentally, and serve other people”.
